Sorry, We Need Your Home For The Worst Team In The NBA. Take Your Stuff And Get Out

Remember Kelo? The case that established, contrary to case law and precedent, that a city COULD seize your home or business by eminent domain to hand it to a private company if it thinks it would rather have that other development than let you keep your house? The New York Court of Appeals used it to give rapacious developer Bruce Ratner a victory, ruling that the City of New York could take people's homes and give them to Ratner to build an arena in Brooklyn for his New Jersey Nets. The place may still never get built, but he can take their homes. Fair? Absolutely not. But fair doesn't matter anymore. Oh, by the way, that Kelo case... the city of New London, CT seized those people's homes and threw them all out, and the project was never built. You'll be forgiven for thinking that the courts, the politicians, and the developers are both evil and insane. More here.
