Someone Has To Pay For It
-
Great, the health care law comes with a marriage penalty. Specifically, you'll be eligible for subsidies to pay for insurance if you don't have it, and it's based on income level, but it's based on the income for your entire family. Therefore, if you're not married, only your own income counts, so a couple who each earns about $43,000 would be eligible if they're not married, but if they're married, and you combine their incomes to make $86,000, they would be well over the limit. Of course this isn't fair. (Fox News)
