Please, Sir, I Want Some More

A parent is upset that a supervisor at her daughter's school made her a-year-old daughter eat a sandwich that had been thrown into the trash. The kid had thrown the sandwich, which was in a sealed plastic bag, away, and the supervisor, who was trying to make sure that everybody ate all of their food, made her take it out, unwrap it, and eat it. On the one hand, it really isn't that big a deal, because the food was wrapped. On the other hand, since when our schools charged with forcing kids to eat? If there's a problem, they can bring it up with the parents. But if there isn't a problem, and it's just some kind of odd policy, why are they doing it? (The Californian/North County Times)
