Bears, 'Shuffle'... You Sure This Story's Not From 1985?

This columnist explains why, in some areas, suburbanites are increasingly encountering bears: it's the "fall shuffle," a time when the Bears, not finding enough food in the woods, come foraging around in preparation for hibernation. The worse the season for nuts growing in the wild, the more likely is that the Bears show up in your subdivision. Yes, you should probably carry a flashlight at night if you go outside.
