Still Waiting For A Clear Idea Of An End Game
-
This San Francisco Chronicle account of what happened with Occupy Oakland understates the situation, according to some observers: they trapped people in a Whole Foods Market for 45 minutes while windows were broken, and they harassed customers just trying to go to the bank or local stores. They converged on the docks and interfered with trucks and business, and affected business for the same small business people that they claim to represent. It's getting ugly out there, and it looks in some ways like a peaceful movement has been taken over by people who just want to vandalize things while spouting anti-capitalism slogans. That's not going to win them as many friends as peaceful assembly would. (San Francisco Chronicle)
