Some Things Shouldn't Be Homework

After all of the data security breaches we've seen, how does the UCLA medical system allow a doctor to take a hard drive home containing medical records of thousands of patients, keep the password written on a piece of paper next to the hard drive, and then report it stolen? And how would somebody no that he had the drive and the password and breaking to his home and take them both? This doesn't smell right at all, does it? And when our institutions going to take data security seriously? How many times do something like this have to happen? (KTLA/Los Angeles)
