The focus of the story is on how California's standardized test for students are "pushing some teachers to cheat." It blames the pressure of judging schools and teachers by test scores for some teachers resorting to cheating. How about blaming the teachers themselves? Testing is imperfect, but does anybody have a better idea of how to evaluate whether a teacher is doing a good job or not? (Los Angeles Times)
