Why are gas prices so high and projected to break records in 2012 when U.S. consumption has actually DECREASED? Simple: It's South America's fault. Demand down there has gone way up, refiners are making more diesel for those markets, and the U.S. ends up paying. Imagine what the price would be if we HADN'T conserved. (Los Angeles Times)
