Not Just Penn State

The Penn State Jerry Sandusky scandal? For some people in Boston, it's deja vu. It turns out that there was a similar case involving the Boston Red Sox. Yes, and it wasn't that long ago. The team's longtime visiting clubhouse manager, Donald Fitzpatrick, was accused of luring at least a dozen boys into sexual abuse. And, yes, it was allegedly hushed up and ignored, a player caught him in the act and told the team but not the police, a kid who complained to the home clubhouse manager got fired, and nothing really happened to him until a victim held up a sign by the Red Sox dugout before a 1991 game in Anaheim announcing that he'd been sexually assaulted by the guy. That's when he disappeared from the clubhouse. He plea bargained, never served time, and died a few years later. And it all went largely unknown to the nation. (Yahoo! Sports/The Post Game)
