NOW Where Are We Gonna Be Able To See The Girls Of Miss Barbara's School Of Dance In Feasterville, PA Tap Dance To "I'm Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover"?

Dead: Al Alberts, the lead singer of the Four Aces to most of the world, but a Saturday morning TV fixture to anyone who lived in Philadelphia at any point during the 60's, 70's, and 80's. "Al Alberts' Showcase" was on channel 6, the ABC affiliate, forever, parading kids from local dance schools and pre-teen crooners and tap dancers in front of the cameras. You really had to see it to believe it; by the end, it was a total throwback to the early days of TV, and even well after the station had become owned and operated by the network, Al and wife Stella's show, plus "Chief Halftown" and Captain Noah and Larry Ferrari playing his organ (!) on Sunday mornings, stayed on the schedule, preempting ABC programming. It was an example of how Philadelphia is sometimes the City That Time Forgot. But that wasn't a bad thing.
