No More Premature Endings To Your Angry Birds Session

After writing a column calling for an end to the call for passengers to turn off their electronic devices for take-off and landing on airplanes, the New York Times' Nick Bilton wrote this O&A to explain why you should be allowed to leave your devices on. In short, there's no reason you can't leave them on and just put phones into "airplane mode," because the only thing that interferes with the plane's navigation system, he says, is the cellular radio, which you can turn off without turning the phone off. And, he notes, there's more potential for interference in turning the devices on and off than in leaving them on. So, should you be able to leave your phones (in airplane mode), Kindles, laptops, and iPods on while your flight takes off or descends? (New York Times)
