Reach Out And Touch Someone. Not Literally

Presidential candidates apparently no longer feel the need to make personal appearances on the campaign trail. They no longer knock on doors, shake hands, kiss babies, and do all the local–yokel stuff they used to do. Now, they concentrate on making appearances on cable news, where more people will see them. Does that personal touch matter anymore? (New York Times)
