Although There's Nothing More Humiliating Than When A Kid Doesn't Get Any Cards
-
This school has relented this year and rescinded its ban on Valentine's Day cards, as long as they're not accompanied by food or candy. That's a fair trade. Why were they banned in the first place? To avoid "inappropriate interactions between boys and girls." The principal had said that romance between students had "no place in the classroom." First, this is an elementary school, so "romance" is a stretch. Second, if there IS romance, banning cards won't change that. (AP via WBAL-TV/Baltimore)
