Do What I Do -- Never Answer The Phone
-
I'm not buying that the FCC's new tougher rules against robocalling and robotexting will have any effect on the practice. Here's why: These companies always find ways around the rules. Example: They call with spoofed caller IDs and no way to find out exactly who they are. And when have you ever gotten a junk text that included a legitimate name or address or number? I hope this helps -- and the elimination of the "already doing business with them" exemption should help -- but I'm not confident, because I'm skeptical that they can enforce these rules.
