This article is kind of alarmist about how companies track everything about you in order to sell you stuff. It's not just online, it's tracking credit card purchases and other behavior. They also check birth records for new parents, or other data they can analyze. And... so? Why wouldn't they? And is it harmful to you that they send you ads for stuff you might want? (New York Times)
