Put Up A Paywall And Say Goodbye To Most Of Your Readers
-
The Gannett papers -- there are a lot of those -- are planning to put up paywalls on their websites. That would be the Detroit Free Press, the Arizona Republic, and many more. After dealing with the New York Times' paywall screwing up and locking me (a paid subscriber) out today, I'm not feeling kindly towards the concept. Would you pay for access to a newspaper website? Or would you just find another source for the news for free? And what papers can get away with charging, and which are just not essential? (Arizona Republic)
