And Just When They've Gotten Good, Too
-
For 15 seasons, there has been no more loyal Los Angeles Clippers fan than Darrell Bailey, who is known all over L.A. and the NBA as "Clipper Darrell." In fact, I don't think most people know him by his real last name. He's always there, and always dressed in Clipper red and blue. Even the players love him. But the team has suddenly hit him with a demand that he drop the name "Clipper" because he's selling merchandise with "Clipper Darrell" on it. It's understandable that they would want to protect their trademark, but couldn't they do some kind of simple license and let him do it? Maybe tack a disclaimer label on the merch, or require a percentage to go to the team, or to charity? This shouldn't have reached this level. (CBS Sports)
