Heading To That Great Pitch-And-Putt Course In The Sky, I'd Assume

This little Q&A about the fate of a local sort-of-folk-art landmark here in my neck of the woods (okay, we don't really have any woods, but you get the idea) is something that you could translate to your area. It's what' colloquially known as the Giant Golf Man, a big, cheesy-looking statue of a golfer that looms over the 405 freeway atop a golf course that's being redeveloped into a public auto racetrack. What will become of Giant Golf Man? They don't know. But every area has an oddball landmark like that, like Philly's giant clothespin or Minneapolis' Grain Belt Beer sign or Boston's Citgo sign beyond the Monster at Fenway. (Daily Breeze, Torrance)
