So, Basically, You're Buying Her Dinner

Meet Amanda Clayton, who just won $1 million in the Michigan state lottery. Why do we care? Because she's still using food stamps. Yes, she will continue to get $200 a month in taxpayer-supported food stamps, because despite pocketing a $700,000 lump sum and spending $200,000 of it on a house and car, she technically doesn't have income. It's a loophole in the law. And she claims she's still "struggling," adding, "I feel that it's OK because I have no income, and I have bills to pay. I have two houses." You don't pay cash for a car and house with half a million left over if you're "struggling."
