Money Talks, And Gets Snacks And Better Hours

Your experience at the bank: Long lines, slow service, added fees, policies designed to make you use the ATM, and the feeling that they'd rather you weren't a customer. But if you were among the, say, top 1% of depositors, they offer special banking privileges -- private branches serving cookies, wine, and cheese, hours by appointment whenever you want them (including after "closing time")... red carpet service. And why not, when the new banking rules make it a lot less costly to serve people with half a million or more in the bank as opposed to the rest of us? So NOW do you feel like occupying Wall Street? Or just getting rich enough so you don't have to wait on the regular line? (New York Times)
