There continue to be articles about potential employers showing bias against the long-term jobless. Some states have instituted rules against that, but they're practically unenforceable -- unless the companies explicitly say they won't hire anyone who's been out of work for a while, how can you prove it? And if the long-term unemployed can't get jobs, what happens to them? And the economy? (Asbury Park Press)
