Crime And Lack Of Adequate Punishment
-
In 1995, you might recall, during the major league baseball strike, they had replacement players, and, in a widely publicized incident, a pitcher for the Braves was murdered in a holdup while he was walking to his hotel. That was 17 years ago. The killer got a 27-year sentence. He's now free. What?!? Yes, under Florida guidelines, you got 20 days' additional credit for every month served, plus time for education programs completed. So he's out. This is a guy who had an extensive record before the murder. He was facing the death penalty and took a plea bargain. And now he's free. 17 years for a murder. That's so wrong.
