So Now There'll Be A Black Market In OLD Cell Phones
-
The major cell phone carriers in America have done a deal with the FCC and will now render stolen cell phones useless, in the process making the black market for stolen cell phones obsolete, because the phones will not work once they're reported stolen, and will not be able to be revived. But what nobody raised when this was announced is what happens when someone calls in a stolen phone report on someone else's phone as a prank -- the phone will be permanently disabled before it's determined that the report wasn't true. I can see people using this as a way to get revenge. (WPIX/New York)
