What did I tell you about not trusting the government to use your tax and fee money for what they SAY they'll use it for? California sold 9/11 memorial license plates and said the money would go to anti-terrorism efforts and to fund scholarships for the kids of Californians killed in the terrorist attack. What did they spend it on? Some of it went to the anti-terrorism and scholarship programs, but a fifth of it was raided by the Governors to pay for other stuff they wanted to fund. The plates are still being sold as if all the money goes for the intended purposes. They lie. It's appalling. And someone should be held accountable. (AP via San Gabriel Valley Tribune)
