The Weekly Standard tabulated that if you win a medal at the Olympics, you'll owe thousands of dollars in taxes. Yes, I'm aware that most are amateurs or don't get paid much (NBA folks and those with big endorsement deals excepted). You'd owe $8,986 on a gold, silver is $5,385 and bronze is $3,500. So if you're in London and plan to win, make sure you've saved up for it. (San Francisco Chronicle)
