Nothing's Stopping You From Paying More If You Really Want To
-
The guy who wrote the book "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" made a lot of money, and now he's telling British authorities that he does not pay enough tax, taking his cue from Warren Buffett. And, like buffet, it doesn't seem like anybody in the media is asking the obvious question: why doesn't he just write a check to the government as a donation? Why does he think that the law needs to be changed, rather than volunteering to pay more, as he would like everybody else to do? Maybe that's because you can still take advantage of deductions and loopholes if the law makes you pay more, but you can't if you write it out as a donation. Or maybe he's just blowing it out his butt. (Daily Telegraph)
