Where Everybody Knows His Name
-
One of the things I like the most about visiting England is how, in many villages and neighborhoods, there's a pub where everyone goes practically every evening. It's just tradition. You go and you have a pint and you gossip and play darts and be part of the community. This guy's 90 years old, and he's been going to his local pub every day for 72 years. He's practically never left town, never got married, never had kids, he just stayed there and, every day, walks to the pub and has the same order, a pint of bitter, and sits in the same place. It would drive me crazy, but some people love consistency. (Bristol Post)
