It Ain't Much, But It's Special

It's old, it's decrepit, it's unused, but they may just declare Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson, New Jersey a national historical landmark as one of the last remaining Negro League ballparks. That would be great, because Hinchliffe has another meaning for me: My dad played ball there, third base for the Eastside High School team (and the second four-letter varsity baseball player for Eastside, after Larry Doby, of whom you may have heard). And I went there with him when I was a kid to see the Eastside-Kennedy football games. So, yeah, historic in more than one way for me. (Bergen Record)
