Dead: Ray Olney, 98 years old. Who? Oh, well, in 1935, when he was a pitcher for N.C. State College, he struck out Babe Ruth. It was a near-the-end Babe Ruth, overweight and hanging on with the Boston Braves, but, still, if you were a college kid who struck out Babe Ruth, you'd be out there bragging and winning bar bets, too.
