It's official, 99 years after the fact, that the hottest place on Earth, ever, was Death Valley, 134 degrees Fahrenheit in 1913. Why did it take so long? Well, in 1922, there was a day recorded at over 136 degrees in Libya, but now they say that the measurement was not reliable due to an inexperienced observer. So, we now have a new-old champion. Death Valley, by the way, is an amazing place, unlike anything you've seen. Just don't go during the Summer. (Daily Telegraph)
