A decades-long study with 33,000 subjects confirms what we kinda know already: sugary drinks make you fat, and it's not just because people with a propensity to be overweight drink the stuff. No, it's that the drinks interact with genes to make you fat. Here's the thing: I don't believe in taxes or restrictions on this kind of stuff, but I know by my own experience that if you cut out soda and other sugary drinks, you lose weight and feel better.
