Read the explanation of why some guy defaced a Mark Rothko painting at the Tate Modern museum in London and see if it makes any sense to you. He's a member of the "Yellowism" movement, and the website says, "Yellowism is not art or anti-art. Examples of Yellowism can look like works of art but are not works of art ... Art is forever developing 'diverse whole'. Yellowism is forever expaning 'homogeneous mass'." Um... what? They're optimistic that they can remove the words he scrawled on the painting, but, really, until they punish taggers with more than a slap on the wrist, this kind of thing is always a possibility.
