The pickup truck driven by a teen who'd had his license for only 15 days at the time ran a red light and slammed into a crosswalk, injuring eight kids, one suffering brain damage. And when the driver claimed the brakes failed, the first reaction had to be, yeah, sure they did. But after an investigation, the cops now say that the brakes really failed. He was really trying to slow down, and he really did get out and try to help. How many times does a story like that turn out to be absolutely true? (KTLA/Los Angeles)
