The Tampa Bay Times' Eric Deggans asks the question a lot of us have wondered about: Why do TV networks still send reporters out to stand in the middle of storms being batted about by the weather, unable to hear or be heard, for every big storm? What's the point? Simple, I think: People like to see someone getting roughed up by Mother Nature. A picture of an empty beach doesn't compare to Al Roker falling on his ass or Ali Velshi ankle deep in water in the middle of the street. We LIKE to see it even though we KNOW it's pointless.
