It Still Makes More Sense Than 'Stairway To Heaven'
-
This one's from "All Things Considered": it's the 40th anniversary of an Italian pop hit that's notable because the lyrics are complete gibberish. The song is called "Prisencolinensinainciusol," and, no, that isn't a word, or a name, or anything. Adriano Celentano recorded the gibberish -- he said it was just how he perceived English sounds to a non-English-speaking person -- over a hypnotic looped beat, and it was really proto-rap, in a way, and way ahead of its time. Once you hear it, you won't forget it. (NPR)
