Some candidates in school board elections in South Jersey are claiming that they lost because of ballot positioning. Here's the problem: the first part of the ballot, at the top, was for all of the partisan races, including President. Below that, the nonpartisan school board elections were listed. The losing candidates claim that people went to the top of the ballot, found Obama, and then just voted for everybody in that column, all the way down to the bottom, including the nonpartisan races. So, they reason, if you were in the first column, you got elected. Are people that lazy that they just go for everybody in one column and walk out of the booth? (Burlington County Times)
