Letting The Past Be Past
-
The Lakers have hired Mike D'Antoni and not Phil Jackson, and some Laker fans are upset by that, because they love Phil and worry that D'Antoni's running offense isn't suited to a team that has some older guys in the lineup. But Jackson was "asking for the moon," a source told the L.A. Times, and the talk included his wanting a piece of the team. In other words, he was asking for more than he expected them to get, because he probably didn't want to do it. Besides, D'Antoni was Steve Nash's guy from Phoenix and Kobe liked him from all the way back in European days, when D'Antoni was a star player in the Italian league while Kobe's dad played there. And anything should be an improvement over Mike Brown. (Los Angeles Times)
