What, The Good Times Don't Last Forever?
-
Remember Robert Swift? He played for the Seattle Supersonics/Oklahoma City Thunder a few years back, over seven feet, red hair, signed right out of high school, kind of a bust after injuries? Well, things haven't gone too well for him, even though he earned about $20 million in his career. The bank's trying to foreclose on his million-dollar house, and he's apparently refusing to leave. The place is kinda in disrepair, too, with beer cans in the yard and a bullet hole in the garage door, and there are cars in the driveway which don't seem to have moved for a while. What, exactly, is going on is unclear, but you can assume that he's had a hard time adjusting to the idea that he isn't a basketball star anymore. And when you go from high school directly to the NBA, there aren't any "For Dummies" books to tell you how to handle fame, money, and, most importantly, what happens when those go away.
