You would think that all college athletes would be covered by insurance if they get injured, but Kevin Ware's horrific broken leg has drawn attention to the fact that not all athletes are covered for their injuries, although Ware appears to be. A school can drop the kid from the team, pull the scholarship, and he's on his own for the injury he suffered while making money for the school. This is something the NCAA should be doing -- providing insurance for all players for the duration of their school tenure plus for life for any injuries or chronic conditions incurred due to their playing -- but they're too busy botching investigations into the University of Miami.
