A new study says that the opposite sex is attracted to men with the voices in women with high voices, which should be a surprise to no one. But the reason is because people tend to estimate the speakers body size by his or her voice. Deep voices are associated with larger body size. Of course, everybody knows little guys with deep voices and big guys with... well, Mike Tyson comes to mind. Also, women like men's voices that are breathy, which is supposed to soften the aggressiveness. Does it say what women think of a nasal, medium pitch, slightly New Jersey/Philadelphia-accented man's voice? Asking for a friend. (HealthDay via Philadelphia Inquirer)
