Maybe Putting A Ring On It Wasn't Such A Good Idea
-
Mario Williams of the Buffalo Bills is suing his ex-fiancée for the engagement ring he bought her before she broke off the engagement. It's worth $785,000. That's an insane amount of money to spend on a ring, but it does raise the question of whether an engagement ring stays with the fiancée after the engagement is called off. I would think that the ring is like consideration for a contract, and if the wedding never happens, the ring should go back. But others might say that it's a gift. Either way, it has to be embarrassing to file a suit like that. (Courthouse News Service)
