Ferris Bueller II

A Japanese judge has ruled that a teenager's $54,000 bar tab, using his father's credit card, is American Express and the bars' fault. Really. The reasoning is this: The clubs ("hostess clubs") are for adults only. The bars shouldn't have served him, so they're responsible. Plus, the judge thinks AmEx should have flagged the charges. So, the dad pays just about $7.832, and the rest is AmEx and the bars' problem. And the kid? He got one hell of a night out of it, for free. (Los Angeles Times)
