Two Queens garbagemen have resigned and paid $2,000 fines for each asking for and accepting a $5 tip from a resident in exchange for taking extra garbage. Sure, that's against the rules and you don't want to have garbage haulers extorting residents, but who hasn't slipped a worker a few extra bucks for going above and beyond? Should someone lose a job over that? (New York Times)
