No surprise: 5-4, Supreme Court has ruled that the appellants didn't have standing to challenge Prop 8. By punting, it has the effect of striking down Prop 8. (Surprise, Scalia went with the majority.) So, California's tactic worked -- the state didn't appeal, and nobody else had standing. And that means same-sex marriage is once again legal in California.
