Money Won't Buy Him His Life Back
-
A man whose skull was bashed in by a bar security guard in L.A. has been awarded $58 million by a jury for his injuries. But take a look at his picture and see if that's worth $58 million or whether that money's meaningless. I mean, his head is a third gone. He can't speak, can barely walk, and needs 24 hour care. And it was all because he and his nephews got into a fight with the bartender, and a security guard who was unlicensed and had no weapons permit -- and who conveniently disappeared -- used a metal baton to bash the guy's head in. The victim was, at the time, an illegal immigrant, and the attack was merciless; if the Zimmerman-Martin case is worth 24/7 coverage, this one deserved some, too. (Los Angeles Times)
