So, How About 'Hopalong Cassidy'?

This article speculates, probably accurately, that Disney, after the resounding failure of "The Lone Ranger," might hesitate to make any more $225 million non-established-franchise blockbusters, because of the risk of another bomb. But is that fair? I mean, this movie apparently (I didn't see it) sucked, and the characters were unfamiliar to anyone under 50 and unappealing to anyone, period. Bad movie, bad concept, bad execution. Who's to say that $225 million for the right movie with the right concept and right execution wouldn't be a good bet? (Los Angeles Times)
