Yet Gas Prices Are Up
-
A study claims Americans have been steadily driving less since 2004. Clearly, they didn't survey anyone in Los Angeles, where it seems that more and more people are on the freeways at all times. And, judging by my driving around my old home areas in Philly and New Jersey last month, they must not have measured there, either. They say it's because of telecommuting (which I do, but doesn't seem to be as common as I thought it would be by now), increased use of public transit (maybe), people moving back to the cities (still crowded here in the 'burbs), and an aging population (older people drive less). Do you see this in your own area? And what does this mean for the auto industry? (CNBC via NBC News)
