Umpire Jerry Meals admits he blew the call at the plate in the Tampa Bay-Boston game, and in so doing, cost the Red Sox at least a tie in the eighth inning. Here's the question: If you lose on a bad call, would you prefer the umpire admit it after the fact, even if there's no way to go back and fix it? Is it a comfort at all to know that the ump knows he blew the call? (Los Angeles Times)
