A Russian lawmaker is suggesting that the draconian anti-gay law enacted in June in that country will remain in force for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, meaning that gay athletes will be arrested and prosecuted, because the law pretty much bans any open acknowledgement of homosexuality, from rainbow flags to holding hands. The International Olympic Committee will only say that they've "received assurances from the highest level of government in Russia that the legislation will not affect those attending or taking part in the Games." That's encouraging. Sort of. Not really. (ABC News)
