This Isn't Progress

Collateral damage from the high-speed train boondoggle going on in Central California is this Fresno couple which bought a popular landmark restaurant and now are being lowballed by the state, which is offering only $120,000 in eminent domain proceedings to take the restaurant away, and is being given short notice to get out. That kind of money is not going to buy them a new restaurant. And, as we've chronicled here before, you can't find too many people who think that this train is a good idea. It was one massive mistake by the voters that started this ball rolling, and nobody has the common sense to stop it. (Los Angeles Times)
